This great works great. I bought this gate knowing that soon I will be having a child but it works great as a dog gate as well. It is fairly easy to set up with the different extensions that are included. The best way to install is to find the extensions that work best then put in the fasteners. The metal is very strong and sturdy. I definitely recommend this product if you have baby or a puppy. I will probably purchase another one when we have a child to prevent them from entering certain spaces. Great product!

It keeps the critters in or out depending on your intended use. The little yappy dogs now can stay behind the gate when the pizza delivery shows up. The baby can finally be stopped from trying to scale Mt. Stair. The gate does a pretty good job of closing itself - you have to set it up with a slight angle to close on its own. It works great. Do not try to stand on the gate. Do not try to karate kick it open. Secretly put it in a hallway at night. Wait for family to wake up to a gate and listen to the mumbles 'what the ffff this', 'how does it open', 'who did this'... etc.
If you need a gate for small creatures with limited use of prehensile limbs this will work for you.

I purchased this product specifically for pet use, currently I have four dogs and two new house guests. My two small dogs will dash out any open door to “freedom” and my houseguests are slow to react. To avoid having any lost pets I have gated off the front door and made an area that will easily confine them while the door is being used. Right out of the box this gate is easy to set up and install, for my situation all extenders were necessary to use. I decided to use the pressure mounting option and within seconds my piece of mind was installed and ready to use. This gate fits snugly and securely in my hallway and even if the big dogs push hard they cannot break through the door of the gate. This item is worth every penny whether you have pets or kids it will definitely make things much easier. My only complaints would be that this item is five inches shorter than the extra tall dream baby brand gate. Also, this particular gate is one way open only, because of this it is more secure but kind of annoying at times. If you are looking for a high quality affordable gate this is definitely the one to purchase.

I bought this gate to prevent my small adult cat from going upstairs. He weighs only 7-1/2 pounds and from looking at the photo I did not know if he could squeeze through the vertical or horizontal bars. He cannot get through as the vertical bars are spaced only 1-1/2 to 2" apart. And the rectangular openings at the bottom are only 4-1/2 wide x 2" tall. We have two steps, then a landing leading to more steps, and we put the gate on the landing and our cat is unable to jump over the gate, so we are very pleased. The gate is very well made and attractive in the bronze color. The gate opening is narrow; however, we seldom go upstairs, so it is not a problem. I highly recommend this gate for its usefulness, attractiveness, and value.

This is a great product! My husband and I moved into a house with a large staircase and none of our 4 other child gates would fit across the stairs. We actually don't even have to use the third insert, but this gate could get really long if need be! The suction cups that go against the wall keep it in place really well, ours hasn't budged a bit, even with our toddler yanking on it. The door is really secure, most visitors can't figure out how to get through it! It is also a lot nicer looking than most gate and doesn't get dirty easily. Even if you don't currently have a wide set of stairs I would suggest getting this gate because it can fit practically any staircase and will last you if you move!

I bought 2 for my Labradors, I have a large home and at times need to keep them away from unsteady grandma or company like repair guys who don't need to be followed by a couple of large dogs. These are the best, well made, sturdiest, easy to assemble gates ever! I use the pressure choice on my door frames which are old and not square. They adjust easily to the uneven door frame areas by turning the pieces at each side. My only comment as noted by another is I tripped over the strong bottom piece as it is easily forgotten. I keep a small garden foam knee pad there now to remind me to step over the bottom bar. Will arrange something nicer later. Opens easily, closes on its own when set up right. My mother has Alzheimer's and this keeps her safe as well, she is unable to figure out how to open it (lift a little and swings in toward the room or out depending which way you set it up). This baby gate was easy to install at the bottom of our long stairway to prevent our dogs from going up when we're away. Would also work well for children. It is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. The self-closing feature works well, too. It is easy to unlock for adults, but it would be difficult for a young child. Unfortunately, our gate came with a broken hinge at the bottom. Rather than suffer the hassle of shipping it back for replacement, we glued it with a "monster glue," and after two months, that is still working just fine. We open and close it probably 6-10 times a day. It's a good value.

Overall: I have an entry way that is 47" wide to my kitchen from my living room. We had been using a wooden baby gate from the local Target to keep our dogs in the kitchen until they developed a taste for it and chewed through it. To replace it we went metal and bought this gate. We installed it with the wall mount brackets to ensure it was screwed in and the dogs wouldn't knock it down.
Cons: This has a pretty unconventional set of mount brackets, they basically encompass the circular pressure mounts. It was not what I was expecting and the gate sways more than I expected but it holds well and it fits my entry way. The door/gate is a pain to open. It requires you to lift it with some force to get it past the locking mechanism. If you don't pull hard it won't open.
Pros: The gate is very,very solid. The construction quality of the gate tells me that it will be here for years to come. I also found it easy to install, much easier than some of the all in one gates that have to be held to the wall to mount. My home is inside a high rise in a big city, the walls are made with metal studs, the wall mount brackets held up well when I used a hammer drill and speciality screws to get into the metal material. It also has an elegant look that makes it seem like it belongs in any modern/contemporary home.
I would highly recommend this gate for folks with pets. It's strong and sturdy and while the gate opening takes some getting used to you know that your pets won't knock it open.

This gate looks really nice in our doorways. Needed something with a panel that would open and close independently. I like how the gate has an automatic close feature. It is a bit heavy to open however. The removable expansion panels are great and really help customize the width to any opening. We bought 2 gates for doorways to a room that we allow our 2 rabbits to run free in. However, one of them was able to squeeze through the bottom of the center panel. We had to close that off by wrapping a wire up and down across those 2 sections to keep them from escaping.

This was the perfect answer for separating my 2 dogs when I leave the house. Extremely sturdy, made of metal and love that it has a swinging door so I can keep it up as opposed to taking a gate up and down. I found it easy to install and because I wasn’t sure where I was ultimately going to use it installed it without drilling into my walls. Obviously I’m not recommending to do this with children but I was able to get it tight enough it’s not going anywhere. I’m thrilled a decided on this model.
